July 19, 2019: Odyssey held a special celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing today. Festivities included a replay of the mission’s archival footage, catered barbecue, and special guest Glynn Lunney. Mr. Lunney was a NASA Flight Director for the Gemini and Apollo programs and was on duty during the historic first Moon landing. Mr. Lunney generously shared memories and experiences and also answered questions from Odyssey employees.
Odyssey looks forward to continuing to build upon the legacy established by Mr. Lunney and others through the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs as NASA prepares to return to the Moon in the next decade. Odyssey continues to play an important role in sending humans back to the Moon and beyond to Mars.
