April 12, 2022: Gary Turner was honored today as Odyssey Space Research’s Engineer of the Year for 2022. This award is given every year to someone at Odyssey that goes above and beyond in their responsibilities and contributions to space flight. Gary is acknowledged for his technical excellence, outstanding leadership, and exceptional contributions ranging from space systems software and algorithm development to modeling and simulation development, test, and verification and validation.
Gary is a brilliant engineer as well as a key contributor to Odyssey proposals, training program development and recruiting efforts. He is a gifted mentor, willing and eager to help develop the next generation of Odyssey engineers. He has been instrumental in helping the Odyssey team ensure NASA’s Orion simulation, Antares, can faithfully provide the evidence necessary for safe Artemis missions – culminating in Artemis I launching later this year. Congratulations Gary on this well deserved recognition!
