August 24, 2015: The Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) unmanned H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) successfully reached the International Space Station (ISS) this morning, its fifth such cargo mission. After a nominal launch from Tanegashima, Japan on August 19, HTV reached ISS and was captured via robotic arm at 10:28 GMT on August 24, 2015.
Odyssey personnel supported from the Mission Control Complex at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX throughout the rendezvous and capture. HTV-5 will remain attached to ISS for approximately a month before departing for a destructive atmospheric re-entry. Congratulations to the entire HTV team!
