February 5, 2017: Today the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced completion of the destructive re-entry of the sixth H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV), named Kounotori-6, bringing to an end its mission. Odyssey engineers supported from the Johnson Space Center Mission Control Complex as release and departure from ISS went smoothly on January 27, with release occurring at 15:45 GMT. Re-entry followed 8 days later at 15:06 GMT after conducting the Kounotori Integrated Tether Experiment (KITE). Congratulations to the entire JAXA, CSA, and NASA team!
